EmpowerEd Pathways offers low-cost SEL training for educators in Central Texas and nationally. Our flagship event is an experiential two day overview of our SEL framework and accompanying tools. We also offer professional learning ranging from a time-frame of 2 hours - 5 days. We tailor time and content to requests and agreements.

EmpowerED Pathways 2 Day Workshop

This  2-day workshop is designed for all  educators (K-12; TA-Superintendent) interested in embedding social & emotional learning throughout the learning/working day. The workshop is interactive and participants are invited to engage in mindfulness practices and community circles as part of the  learning experience.   

In day one the work is  grounded in neuroplasticity and relationships by investigating the neuroscience of learning and connection.  We then discuss the significance of Social & Emotional Learning (SEL), clearly define SEL and explore the EmpowerED Pathways’  framework to develop emotional intelligence and personal well-being through 3 Pathways of Practice. 

  • Practices which build awareness and equanimity.

  •  Practices which build kindness and compassion towards self and others.

  • Practices which celebrate common humanity, and break the walls of indignity. 

In day two we continue exploring these Pathways through more experiential learning and time for strategic planning Participants will leave with a clear understanding of Social and Emotional Learning and resources/tools to support embedding these practices within the and a unique framework for implementation.

1 day workshop offerings

A New Framework for Learning:  SEL, mindfulness and beyond

This workshop is designed for all educators (K-12; TA-Superintendent) interested in embedding social & emotional learning practices and structures throughout the learning/working day.  Neuroplasticity and relationships are presented as the basis for learning and the fact that, learning (by nature) IS social and emotional are repeated theme.  The workshop is interactive, and participants are invited to engage in mindfulness practices and collaborative learning.  Participants will leave with a clear understanding of Social and Emotional Learning, a framework for building relationships, the EmpowerED Pathways’ 3 Pathways of Practice and resources for implantation.  The 3 Pathways of Practice: are

  • Practices which build awareness and equanimity.

  • Practices which build kindness and compassion towards self and others.

  • Practices which celebrate common humanity and break the walls of indignity.

Creating brain based and dignity centered environments

This workshop is designed for all educators (K-12; TA-Superintendent) interested in creating dignity and brain-based learning/working environments.  Content focuses on human brain development and creating environments conducive to learning.  This workshop also showcases how promoting individual sovereignty and dignity impact personal well-being and campus climate/culture. The workshop is interactive, and participants are invited to engage in mindfulness practices, discussions and collaborative learning.  Participants will leave with a basic understanding of brain development and pragmatic strategies for cultivating positive human attributes while curbing the negative.  This workshop also reinforces the notion that “honored dignity” is the true equalizer in regard to preventing injustice and developing human potential to its fullest capacity.

Cultivating Educator Resilience

This workshop is designed for all educators (K-12; TA-Superintendent) interested in increasing well-being and resiliency through a deeper exploration/practice of self-care and self-compassion.  The intent is to provide educators with “a day of care” to cultivate and promote personal well-being rather than focusing on student strategies. The workshop is experiential in nature with multiple opportunities to engage in a variety of mindfulness and self-care practices.  Participants will gain an understanding of the brain’s negativity bias and strategies to rewire this bias.  Participants will leave with multiple strategies to increase well-being and resiliency.

Triad of Hope: Shifting the paradigm through SEL, mindfulness and restorative practices.

This  three day series is  presented in partnership with Life Anew Restorative Justice.  EmpowerED Pathways will share our SEL framework and mindfulness while Life Anew will provide community circle training and introduce techniques to begin incorporating restorative practices.  Together we will discuss the intersection of SEL, mindfulness and restorative practices and how each incorporates and is dependent on each other.
